MyCopy - a new "Print on demand" service from Springer
MyCopy is a "Print on demand" service for e-books from Springer. Students and staff at the university can now order a printed edition of the online books we have purchased from Springer.
There are already 14,000 books available for the service, and the
number increases.
This also applies to reading books.
Here is an example from Informatics
Price is 24.95 Euro per book including shipping.
Maximum delivery time is 8-11 days.
The only limitations of MyCopy are:
- MyCopy is available for books published since 2005 only
- MyCopy books are printed in greyscale inside (but with a colour cover) - you will need to use the online version for colour images (or buy a standard print copy).
Where colour images are essential for safety (e.g. in Medicine) MyCopy may not be available for that title. - MyCopy is not available for books of more than 832 pages, simply because that is the largest size possible for the print-on-demand machines.
