Access
The library website is a good place to start your research. It provides information on the collections and will help you get started with your research or find resources by subject. It will also guide you to which of the library’s branches that contain the physical materials that are relevant to your project.
Collection
The University of Oslo Library has a large collection of books and journals in open and closed stacks, in addition to a large electronic collection. The electronic collection is available from any computer within the university network or from outside the network if you use remote desktop or VPN-connection. Search the collection in BIBSYS.
Library card
Your University of Oslo (UiO) key card has a bar code on the back with your library card number. Library staff will help you activate it.
Loan period
Employees of the university and visiting researchers are granted a loan period of three months before a loan needs to be renewed.
Free to use
Borrowing materials, both from our own and other libraries’ collections is free for UiO employees. Article copies from other libraries are also free.
