BIBSYS is being replaced

BIBSYS is being replaced at the University of Oslo in November. You can borrow books in the libraries, and you can search in Oria during the transition period, but on the 11th - 20th November it will not be possible to renew loans, reserve books and order literature online. The new library system will be in place from the 21st November, and all services will function as normal.

BIBSYS Ask will be turned off on the 11th November – search in Oria

The old library system BIBSYS Ask will be turned off on the 11th November. Ask is replaced by Oria (uio.oria.no).

Oria combines searches in the university's printed and electronic collections of books, journals, articles, chapters etc. from a range of databases, and provides a broader search result list than BIBSYS Ask. Please note that it will not be possible to sign in to Oria during the transition period, but searching will be possible.

Renewing, reserving and ordering online will be temporarily unavailable

On the 11th - 20th November it will not be possible to renew loans, reserve books and order literature online, only in the physical libraries. The libraries will have regular opening hours.

From the 21st November, the new library system will be up and running, and all services will function as normal again, both online and in the physical libraries.

E-shelf records in Oria will be deleted on the 13th of november

E-shelf records will not be exported to the new system. We recommend that you collect your e-shelf records by exporting them to e.g. Endnote or send them to yourself using e-mail. The records must be collected at latest on the 12th of November.

No overdue notices and fees

Old fees will not be transferred to the new library system, and you will not receive overdue notices on books which are due in November.
