Psychology - Literature search - master - second term

At the master program, you will need to know how to locate relevant research material. In this course, you will learn search techniques, as well as get to know central databases and resources for your studies.

Learning outcomes

After attending the course, you will:

  • be familiar with the most central literature databases in psychology
  • know of search techniques that will make your searches more effective and accurate
  • know how to find literature in fulltext, including the syllabus literature
  • know how to find relevant literature in the library database Oria, as well as article databases such as PsycINFO
  • be able to perform subject searches and citation searches
  • know what EndNote is, and how you can use it
  • find Your way around the Library

Working methods

Lecture and guided searching in a PC-room. Includes a guided tour in the Library.

Target audience

Master students in their 2nd term of study at the University of Oslo.
