CES - Library workshop - master
In this course we will practices "deep drilling" with using "related search" functionality and citation searches. This is very useful if you have found some interesting and want to find more of the same. We will also use some techniques for "wide radar scanning" to try to discover if someone else have written about the same as you before.
We will search for articles that have written about your problem from a completely different angle. That is more difficult, but also sometimes surprising and fun.
Learning outcomes
After the library course you should:
- have experienced complex search tasks
- be able to search for concepts and theories and not only titles, author and keywords.
- be able to evaluate relevance and quality by using quantitative and qualitative methods
Working methods
The students should use their thesis as a starting point for all the exercises and we will discuss problems that arise in connection with these tasks.
Target group
This course is intended for second term Master's students.
