Publishing fund for UiO researchers

Authors who wish to publish in Open Access publications can apply for funds to help cover the article processing charges through the UiO publishing fund.

The University Library administrates the publishing fund and processes the applications. The size of the grant is not fixed, and is contingent on the remaining balance in the publication fund itself.

There are guidelines for those who wish to apply. From these guidelines we specifically point out that the publication fund only covers the processing charges in Open Access, and the corresponding author must be affiliated with UiO. You can apply for funding for both articles and book publications. For more information and guidelines, click the button for articles or books below.

What is Open Access publishing

Open Access publications refers to journals and books that are open to everybody, and not regulated by subscription schemes or other barriers. Processing fees often have to be covered by the author or by the institution where the author is employed.

How to apply

The application process and requirements vary depending on what you are publishing.
