Access to EndNote
Students and staff at UiO have free access to EndNote. EndNote has versions both for Windows and MacOS, and the resulting databases or "libraries" are compatible across platforms.
With Microsoft Word, Apple Pages and OpenOffice Writer, EndNote can be used directly from the word processor. If you use other word processors you must save your file in rtf format and use EndNote for final formatting of your paper.
UiO computer
On most UiO computers on campus you will find EndNote installed under
All programs - > EndNote - > EndNote program.
Laptop or home computer
Installing EndNote on your computer
Students and staff can download EndNote free of charge from UiO's Software Database, version X6.0.1 for Windows, version x.6 for Mac (pages in Norwegian).
If you have problems in installing EndNote, contact UiO's IT services.
Using EndNote via UiO's web-based services
If you are using your own laptop computer or are working from home, you can use EndNote via the web page UiO Program kiosk. If you are using EndNote through Kiosk, you must also use Word through Kiosk to ensure that the programs are on the same level.
If you are using Linux or Mac, you cannot use Kiosk. However, you can run the Windows version of EndNote (and other Windows applications) on your computer through remote desktop win.uio.no.
