Reference styles

APA 6th

APA 6th is an author-year style from the American Psychological Association. This style is most commonly used in psychology, economics, education and health sciences.

Chicago 16th A

Chicago 16th A is a footnote-based reference style. The manual for this style is published by the University of Chicago Press.

Harvard

Harvard is an author-year style. The style is general and is used in many disciplines. Sources must be indicated both in the running text and in the reference list.

MLA

The MLA reference style is based on entering the author’s surname in parentheses in the running text. In the MLA there is a certain degree of choice on whether to use endnotes or footnotes for additional information.

Vancouver

Vancouver is the style most commonly in the medical diciplines. The style is numerical, i.e., the references are numbered in the order in which they appear in the manuscript.
