Updated for spring 2017
Clinically oriented books are especially relevant in the last semesters.
Rang HP, Dale MM. Rang and Dale's pharmacology. 8th ed. Edinburgh: Churchill Livingstone Elsevier; 2016.
We recommend this exceptionally good textbook which has a primary emphasis on basic pharmacology, and an adequate coverage of clinical questions and basic toxicology.
Katzung BG, Masters SB, Trevor AJ. Basic & clinical pharmacology. 13th ed. New York: McGraw-Hill Medical; 2015.
A good and well updated systematic book that covers both basic and clinical pharmacology and some toxicology, although basic pharmacology is fairly briefly described because this is a textbook aimed at American students. Much improved last edition. The illustrations are good, and most chapters start with a case.
Goodman LS, Gilman A, Brunton LL, Chabner BA, Knollmann BC. Goodman & Gilman's the pharmacological basis of therapeutics. 12th ed. New York: McGraw-Hill Medical; 2011. XVI, 2084 s.
A brilliant reference book if you wish to go further in depth of pharmacology, but too extensive to be used as a textbook for the exam. It covers basic pharmacology/biology, clinical pharmacology and therapy as well as toxicology.
