Access to thousands of e-books
Through new agreements with Wiley and Taylor & Francis, students and staff at UiO and OUS now have access to over 120,000 more e-book titles than before. In total, we now have access to over 900,000 e-books in Oria, the library's catalog.
The new agreements are Evidence Based Collection agreements (EBC, often referred to as EBA). This is a purchasing model where users can access comprehensive content in the form of e-books. Access lasts for a given period, usually twelve months. At the end of the contract period, UB purchases the e-books that have been most used and which are considered most relevant.
What do we get access to
With Taylor & Francis we have access to approximately 120,000 e-book titles for two months. The 12-month period takes effect from July, but then with a smaller selection of titles. This selection is supplemented by approximately 1,300 e-books from other publishers, to cover most of UiO's disciplines.
The agreement with Wiley gives access to approximately 1,400 titles in the medical and natural sciences subjects.
