The Medical Library at Rikshospitalet, Ullevål Hospital, The Norwegian Radium Hospital and the Dentistry Library will open its doors again from Monday, August 10 2020. Hooray!
The Humanities and Social Sciences Library in Georg Sverdrups hus is open. The other libraries keep their take away library open, but with reduced opening hours. We are planning to run as normal, with normal opening hours for all our libraries, from 10 August, provided the situation allows for this.
The University Library's collections contain a lot of gay literature. Here we present some books related to LHBTQ themes, gender and sexuality. The list is updated June 2020.
The University Library reading list offers up to date and historical context for the current situation in the USA, from the autobiographical Narrative of the life of Frederick Douglass, an American slave, to Black Lives Matter: from a moment to a movement.
We have reopened the order function in Oria, and you can now order books directly there. The form that has been in use lately has been closed.
Through new agreements with Wiley and Taylor & Francis, students and staff at UiO and OUS now have access to over 120,000 more e-book titles than before. In total, we now have access to over 900,000 e-books in Oria, the library's catalog.
The Academic Writing Centre is a consultation service for students and faculty at the UiO. Although the campus is closed, the centre is open online for all inquiries about the study situation in general and essay writing in particular.
The week after Easter, the University Library will open a limited service for collecting highly needed material from our printed collections. The service will be offered within the national guidelines for infection control. It is not possible to return any books to the Library until we are up and running with normal services again.

The journal packages from PsycARTICLES and the ProQuest Health Research Premium Collection are no longer available after March 1, 2020. At UiO and OUS, we have had access to these journal packages through "Helsebiblioteket". Update as of March 23: The library has now set up the Get It Now service to access articles.
Finally there is an IT-helpdesk at the Medical Library at Rikshospitalet. IT-help will be available Mondays between 09-12, and Tuesdays between 14-16.
