UiO-Carpentry workshops during COVID-19

Infection prevention regulation

We want to make sure that our learners, instructors, and helpers feel safe. Therefore, we are carefully monitoring the COVID-19-related recommendations from UiO and making sure they are followed during our workshops.

In order to sign up for the workshop, you must comply with the University of Oslo infection prevention regulations and follow the instructions given prior to and during the workshop.

In short

  • If you feel sick, you MUST NOT come to the workshop. Please send us an email to and let us know so we can give your seat to someone on the waiting list.

  • You must be registered to attend the workshop. We will check attendance. If you are not registered beforehand, you cannot participate.

  • Keep at least 1-meter distance to other participants. The room will be set up accordingly.

  • Wash your hands often or use disinfectant. Before you leave the room, please wipe your table, your chair, and other facilities you used with surface disinfectant wipes available right outside of the room.

Disclaimer and No-Show policy

Due to halved-down capacity of the lecture rooms at UiO, we can accept only a small number of participants. Given the instructors' and helpers' time and effort devoted to this workshop, we apply the following disclaimer and strict policy for the sign up and for no-shows.

  • If the number of registrations does not reach 10 at the point of Friday 26th 15:00, the workshop is cancelled.
  • Sign up when you are sure that your schedule allows the full participation in the workshop.
  • If you know that you cannot attend the workshop, de-register yourself or send an email to as soon as possible.
  • If you don't show up at the workshop without any notification, you will not be offered a seat for other Carpentry workshops this year.

Participants must bring a laptop with a Mac, Linux, or Windows operating system (not a tablet, Chromebook, etc.) that they have administrative privileges on. They should have a few specific software packages installed (listed in the full course information, click the link above).
