Carpentry workshop - Open Research data
Software Carpentry's mission is to help scientists and engineers get more research done in less time and with less pain by teaching them basic lab skills for scientific computing.
Improve your research data management skills and learn about sharing your data to improve the impact of your research.
This one day workshop will cover the following topics:
- Incentives and barriers
- The data management life-cycle; from planning and working with data to publication
- Funder requirements for data management and sharing
- How to manage own data efficiently. Documentation, analysis and storage
- Data sharing and publishing, implications and benefits
Instructor: Sarah Jones, Digital Curation Centre and University of Glasgow. The content of the workshop will build on the DC 101 course held at a number of institutions in the UK and in Europe, most recently at the The CODATA-RDA School of Research Data Science in August 2016
The course is aimed at graduate students and other researchers from UiO and OUS, and tailored towards those with very little to no experience in the subjects taught.
