Carpentry: R for Reproducible Scientific Analysis (Novices)

Software Carpentry offers workshops for fundamental coding and data skills needed to conduct research.

Read the full course information on the workshop website.

The course is aimed at graduate students and other researchers who have no prior experience (= novices) with the programming language R. You don't need to have any previous knowledge of the tools and packages that will be presented at the workshop.

NOTE: If you have already taken a course in R, there will be another workshop later in the spring term 2020 for intermediate learners / competent practitioners.

Participants must bring a laptop with a Mac, Linux, or Windows operating system (not a tablet, Chromebook, etc.) that they have administrative privileges on. They should have a few specific software packages installed (listed in the full course information).

Participants who arrive at the workshop without having installed and checked if the software packages run cannot participate. There will be time for troubleshooting issues related to installation 30 minutes before the workshop starts.

If there are questions related to installation and testing of the software packages needed, feel free to ask us via email to
