HF - International students - Introduction to library services - bachelor

The Student Library for undergraduate students at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities offers an introductory session for new students to find their way into our collections and to master research techniques and methods. We help our students to learn the skills needed to  find, read, evaluate, and use resources from the University Library. Length of the course: 45 minutes

Learning outcomes

After the library course you should:

  • know how to find relevant information available from the library collections
  • be able to search our library catalogue Oria in an effective way
  • use the online library catalogue to locate, order, reserve books and renew loans
  • know where to find relevant databases and have technical knowledge enough to use them efficiently 

Working methods

There will be a demonstration of how to search the library catalogue and how to find the databases relevant to your subject. After an online demonstration will we walk you around the library and demonstrate how the literature is organized on the shelves. You will also learn about how to use the copying and printing services available in our library.

Target group

International students attending the English language courses at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
