Research Bazaar: Try 3D design and printing

This is the workshop for people wanting to jumpstart 3D-printing! We will do a short intro to Fusion 360, a free Design software, and Cura, a free 3D printer software.

We will print some of the participants models, focusing on how to design, and print simple models on consumer grade machines. This workshop will give you the tools needed to get started with printing. There will be a possibility for you to ask about the available types of machinery.

Subjects covered:

  • Using Autodesk Fusion 360: 3D-design for absolute beginners.
  • Using Cura to export models from Design software to printer.
  • Basic operating principles of cheap consumer grade 3D printer
  • What type of machine will you need for your application?

No previous CAD skills required, but having Fusion 360 installed is a good idea (long installation process)
