Research Bazaar: Introduction to Motion Capture

(Full, with waiting list)

This workshop will give an overview of the analysis of human movement using motion capture systems.

A brief introduction to various motion capture systems will be given, including camera-based and sensor-based systems. Then follows a hands-on session with the Qualisys optical motion capture system at the Department of Musicology. This includes learning how to calibrate the system, put on a motion capture suit, placement of markers, carrying out a capture, and pre-processing the data for further analysis. Finally, examples of motion capture experiments will be presented and discussed.
