Research Bazaar: Virtualized research architecture
This workshop will help you set up a virtualized research architecture with IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service).
IaaS gives you the possibility to quickly and with little or no cost set up one or several machines for a test or to get some result, and afterwards either throw them away or build further on your solution. The focus is on getting the actual platform to work, not on what research tools you install on top of it.
- Making a server interactively
- How to automate making servers from the command line
- How to use storage
After completion attendees will be comfortable making linux-based servers on a virtual infrastructure.
Knowledge of the linux command line. Having attended the SSH workshop, or already being skilled in SSH and having SSH key pairs set up in your SSH client. All attendants need to bring their own laptop (any operating system) with an SSH client.
Researchers who would like the freedom to quickly set up their own virtual computer lab
