Using ArcGIS in Research - Cancelled!
Geographical Information Systems are widespread tools to analyse spatial data. The University of Oslo has a site license for ArcGIS Pro (developed by ESRI), an advanced GIS tool widely used in research and education.
Time and place
This course is unfortunately cancelled - we hope to be able to run it at another time.
January 10th 2019, 09:00-16:00, Vilhelm Bjerknes' hus, IT-auditorium 3
The workshop will be given in cooperation with instructors from Geodata AS. Geospatial data is a key data type in many fields of research both in natural science and social science. Understanding key concepts is fundamental and will be the main focus of this workshop.
After attending this workshop, learners are able to know how to:
- identify data that fit into a mapping project
- make maps, add data to it and apply functionality that fit the purpose of a project
- share data, maps and other content with others inside their organisation
- perform spatial analyses to acquire information about the data maps
No prior knowledge of geospatial data or GIS tools is required. Since we have a site license, the participants should have an affiliation with the University of Oslo, i.e. have a UiO username.
Master and PhD students at UiO.
