Ig Nobel Show at UiO
The University of Oslo have the honor of hosting the alternative Nobel Prize show – the Ig Nobel show. These researchers will make you LAUGH and then make you THINK!
(Ill. L. Hirsti)
As part of their Europe tour, the founder of the IG Nobel award, Marc Abrahams is visiting UiO with a selected team of previous winners.
The previous winners presenting this year are:
Dr. Nadia Dominici, for discovering that some people would be physically capable of running across the surface of a pond — if those people and that pond were on the moon.
Dr. Piers Barnes, for calculating the number of photographs you must take to (almost) ensure that nobody in a group photo will have their eyes closed.
Dr. Kees Moeliker for documenting the first scientifically recorded case of homosexual necrophilia in the mallard duck.
Bonus: The winner of the Luxuriant Flowing Hair Club for Scientists (LFHCfS) will be announced!
The event is free and the doors open at 15:00. Forskerforbundet UiO (The Norwegian Association of Researchers - NAR) serves popcorn and jazz, and Realistforeningen keeps the bar open. (Please note that it is not allowed to bring alcoholic beverages into the building).
