Here you will find opening hours for all of our libraries.

Archaeological library

Staffed hours:

  • Monday - Thursday: 10:00 - 14:30
  • Lunch: 11:30 - 12:00
  • The library may, on occasion, be closed. Please call in advance: +47 22859570
  • In order to enter, contact the Library using the intercom.

Ethnographic library

The book collection at the Ethnographic Library is unfortunately not available for order in Oria from 5 March - 19 April.

The reading room is unfortunately closed in the spring of 2021.

Humanities and Social Sciences library in Georg Sverdrups Hus

Open with access card (UiO):

  • Monday - Friday: 08:00-22:00
    Staffed hours: 10:00-18:00  
  • Saturday and Sunday: 10:00-18:00
    Staffed hours: 10:00-14:00 
  • The entrance and card reader is outside to the left of the rotating door.

Informatics library

Staffed and open with access card (UiO):

  • Monday - Friday: 08:30-17:00

Law library in Domus Juridica

Until further notice, Domus Juridica and the library are closed to external users.

  • Monday - Sunday: 05:00-24:00

Staffed hours for students and employees with a UiO access card:

  • Monday - Saturday: 10:00–16:00

Medical library at Rikshospitalet

Open for students and staff at Oslo University Hospital, with card and PIN code:

  • Always

Staffed hours:

  • Monday – Friday: 08.00–17.00
  • Saturday: 10.00–15.00

There are currently visitor restrictions at Oslo University Hospital. If you do not have an access card for the hospital, you must make an appointment with the library to enter the hospital, contact us.

Medical library services at The Norwegian Radium Hospital

Our office at The Norwegian Radium Hospital is currently closed due to the Oslo City Government's compulsory home office working coronavirus measure. The library offers digital help and guidance, please see the subject guide for medicine.

Natural History Museum - Library

Until the new library is ready in 2021, all material can be ordered via oria.no and will be sent directly to the respective mail shelves.

Material found at NHM can be picked up directly from the shelves. The loan is registered by sending an email to nhm-bibliotek@ub.uio.no.

Borrowed books are sent by internal mail to the Science Library, PO Box 1063 Blindern. Books from NHM's collections must be returned as normal.
