Jon Butterworth (@jonmbutterworth) is the Head of Department for the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University College London. He is a researcher within the Atlas experiment at CERN and has written the popular science book "Smashing Physics" shortlisted for the Royal Society's Winton Prize for Science Books 2015. He also writes the Guardian blog Life & Physics.
