Workshop description

If you are a PhD candidate or a postdoctoral researcher at UiO and would like to reflect on your own approaches to academic writing, improve your collaboration skills, or simply find more joy and inspiration in writing, we invite you to a series of three workshops based on art therapy methods dedicated to those themes. It is possible to join selected workshops or sign up for a whole series. See the themes and dates below under "Registration".

Preparations

There is no preparation or prerequisite skill required to attend.

About the workshop

These practical workshops use art therapy methods to help you explore the challenges that can make writing feel difficult or unmotivating, and processes that can fuel your writing. Rather than focusing on specific writing techniques, the workshops invite self-exploration and moving between verbal and visual expression. You will have an opportunity to make art, connect with other researchers, and discover new, supportive ways to approach your writing process.

The workshops are based on art therapy methods, but are not a replacement to personal or group therapy.

Language

The workshops are facilitated in English.

Registration

Registration is on a first come, first served basis, and the group size is limited to 10 participants. Please note that this workshop series is dedicated only to PhD candidates and postdoctoral candidates. You must register for each desired workshop individually.

Each workshop takes place from 12:15-15 in Georg Sverdrups hus, Grupperom 1, on their respective dates.

Workshop Themes

  1. Friday 13 March, 12:15-15:00: Writing as an exciting process
  2. Friday 20 March, 12:15-15:00: Collaboration in writing
