Course description
In this workshop, you'll gain the skills needed to create clear and visually appealing scientific posters.
Target audience
Researchers, students, PhDs, and postdocs.
Learning outcomes
- Understanding basic design principles to improve visual appeal and readability.
- Conveying research objectives, methods, results, and conclusions clearly and efficiently.
- Drafting your own poster with real-time feedback to refine your approach.
- Analyzing successful examples to identify what makes them effective
Prerequisites and required materials
All participants must bring a draft of the poster they intend to develop, as this will be the primary focus of the workshop. The draft can be in any format—digital (any software) or hand-drawn on paper—and does not need to be complete. This workshop emphasizes design thinking to improve your draft, rather than instructing on specific software use. It's crucial that you bring this draft, as you will be actively working on refining it during the session.
Lunch
- There will be a complementary buffet-lunch at 12:00-13:00 from the Sverdrups spiseri (Georg Sverdrups Hus, 2nd floor).
- After you get your lunch, join us at Store møterom where we have reserved seats for #DSDays25 participants.
Number of participants
After the soft deadline, a waiting list will be automatically handled upon de-registrations.
