Please note!

This half-day workshop is Part 2 of a two-part series, and it is at the Intermediate / Advanced level.

You may attend Part 2 alone or join both sessions for a complete experience; however, attending Part 1 is recommended as it lays the groundwork for the more advanced topics in Part 2.

Course description

This is Part 2 of a two-part workshop series.

We will look at more advanced concepts and challenges of the photogrammetry and related 3D capture technology.

Target audience

Researchers, students and engineers at UiO, natural history, humanities, architecture, engineering.

Learning outcomes

  • This advanced workshop will provide practical information on less commonly explored aspects for detailed technical 3D reconstruction from photographic datasets.
  • Introducing participants to a wider support network within UiO.

Prerequisites

  • Intermediate/Advanced Level
  • Assumes a good basic experience of the approach, complex camera equipment and at least one desktop processing software.

Technical and Material Requirements

The session is intended as a discussion and triage space, so access to software in the workshop is not essential but if participants wish to share or discuss specific problems it is recommended.

  • The presenters personal area of experience is with Agisoft Metashape. If attendees wish to work on or get help on existing projects they should come with their own laptop and software if possible.

Lunch

  • There will be a complementary buffet-lunch at 12:00-13:00 from the Sverdrups spiseri (Georg Sverdrups Hus, 2nd floor).
  • After you get your lunch, join us at Store møterom where we have reserved seats for #DSDays2026 participants.
