Target Audience
Primarily PhD students, postdocs, researchers, and research support staff at the University of Oslo and Oslo University Hospital currently using or planning to use AI tools in research processes, or those who simply wish to gain insight into one important aspect of AI use in research. There are a few spots for external participants and participants from other Norwegian/Nordic universities are especially welcome to attend.
Description
Different AI tools are increasingly used in research. Publishers, funders and institutions often require a declaration of AI use, either in a form of a formal AI statement or as a part of methods’ description. How should such statements be written and what is their purpose? How do we make sure that an AI use declaration is transparent and useful for other researchers? How do we make sure that it suits our own needs and intentions?
Join us for this new course on declaring AI use in research to both reflect on AI declaration and to practice writing one yourself!Â
In the first part of the course, we will introduce you to selected requirements, examples and ethical considerations of AI use declaration. In the second part of the course, you will have a chance to workshop an AI statement for your own work.
