Description

Are you struggling with tracing back your steps during data collection or analysis process? Or you have difficulties keeping track of the different versions of datasets, code, or manuscripts? Or maybe you just want to learn how to work more effectively and make your research more rigorous and verifiable?

In this 90-minute course we will introduce you to the tools and practices for more reproducible and effective research from the very start of your project to publishing the results. We will also discuss existing barriers to reproducibility and how to overcome them. Finally, we will give you some practical tips and tricks for how to start with more reproducible research.

We will wrap up with a question and answer session where you will be able to ask us any questions you might have about this topic!

Target Audience

Primarily PhD students, postdocs, researchers, and research support staff at the University of Oslo. There are a few spots for external participants and those from other Norwegian/Nordic universities are especially welcome to attend.

Learning Objectives

After the course, you will:

  • know what reproducible research workflows are
  • have an overview over different tools and practices for increasing research reproducibility
  • be familiar with the benefits and challenges of reproducible research

Setup

The course will take place digitally on Zoom and meeting link will be sent out to the registered participants the day before the course.
