Introduction to Zotero

Zotero is a smart reference and research tool suitable for collaboration. In this workshop, you will learn how to collect, organize, and share your bibliographies and research, cite as you write, and mark up and annotate your research material.

Bildet kan inneholde: menneskekroppen, rektangel, skråningen, gest, kunst.

Target groups

Open to all students and employees at the UiO and OUS.

Learning outcomes

After attending this workshop, you will know how to use Zotero to

  • collect and organize sources you may have or find in Oria, Google Scholar, and other databases, or record manually
  • tag and annotate material individually and as a group
  • cite as you write in Word (or Google Docs, LibreOffice, or any other word processor you might use), in the reference style of your choice
  • automatically create a bibliography (reference list) of all the references you have used

Working methods

Demonstration with practical examples and exercises. Instruction will be in English, unless everyone is competent in Norwegian, and we can also answer questions in Norwegian.
