How to Make Better Graphs and Figures

Have you ever thought about what makes a graph or a figure "effective"? In this workshop we present you with both obvious and subtle tricks to enhance visualizations. We will offer tips on how you can utilize visual vocabulary and expand your knowledge of basic visualization tools to better communicate and convey your research.

Register

We will explore the use of graphs and figures in research. A large focus will be placed on how you can better represent your data in an effective, informative, and creative way. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of design rules and how these can be best paired with scholarship. The workshop will leave you with tips and tricks on how to improve your research communication through visual methods and tools.

None.

Target audience

PhDs, Postdocs, Technical personnel, Students. 

Required Materials 

Laptop as well as a graph and/or figure you are currently working on.
