İdil Çetin is currently working on her research project "Photography as a Survival and Diaspora-Building Tool in the Aftermath of 1915". The project looks into how Armenians supported themselves and preserved their culture through photography in the aftermath of the genocide in 1915.
During the presentation "Curating Discplacement: Navigating Technical Hurdles in Digital Recovery", Çetin will discuss the technical and etchical complexities of digitising the Garabet Chahinian archive, from the practical challenges of encoding to the ethical dilemmas of how to display fragmented or illegible heritage.
We invite BærUt! network members and those curious about whether the BærUt! community is for them to join us for a 60-minute open session.
