The digital edition of Henrik Ibsen's writings (HISe) has faced challenges related to long-term maintenance because of its complex XML-based technical framework. This spring, the project successfully transitioned to a static publishing framework combined with XSLT transformations. The new solution significantly simplifies maintenance while preserving the rich functionality and scholarly value of the edition.
In this presentation, Anders Nøklestad, Heidi Karlsen, Emil Røsås, and Nina Evensen from the Centre for Ibsen Studies and Humit will present the work behind the new solution, discuss the challenges they encountered, and outline what still remains to complete the transition.
