Research communication and visualisation help make research more visible by turning complex ideas into clear, engaging messages that audiences can follow, understand, and remember.

What we offer

We offer workshops, seminars, and talks on research communication and data visualisation. Our workshops can be tailored to your audience and objectives. Depending on our capacity, we adapt the content, level, and examples to suit your needs.

Who is this for?

This service is primarily intended for members of the University of Oslo (UiO) and Oslo University Hospital (OUS), including:

• Researchers at all career stages
• Research groups
• Employees
• Master's students (subject to capacity)

Workshops, seminars, and talks

Topics include:

• Research communication: principles of effective research communication and presentation skills
• Core design principles for research communication and data visualisation
• Research posters: designing clear, engaging, and effective research posters
• Data visualisation: principles for choosing and designing effective charts and figures
• Research communication in practice: inspiring talks and real-world examples

Please note: These workshops and seminars are software-agnostic. We focus on visual communication principles and strategies that apply regardless of the tools you use.

Additional support 

• Research poster feedback sessions (45 minutes)
• Presentation feedback (45 minutes)

Please note: We provide guidance and feedback only, we do not design posters or presentations for you.

Booking Guidelines

• We recommend booking workshops, seminars, and talks at least 3–4 weeks in advance. This gives us the best opportunity to plan and tailor the content to your audience.
• Need a session at shorter notice? Get in touch, we'll do our best to accommodate your request, depending on our capacity and the time available.
• The more information you include in your request (e.g. your audience, preferred topics, and learning objectives), the better we can tailor the session to your needs.

All talks, workshops, and consultations are offered in English.
