Summary:
This weekly report summarizes activities seven weeks in the Summer of 2017, the holiday season. These activities include creating additional news items for the website and work on visualization prototypes.
Specific activities, including:
- Creation of a version of the Abel Prize touch table application without copyrighted material, which now can be accessed online. (Hugo, Dan Michael)
- Creating a script to detect if a user is in the UiO network (they will see the original version of the Abel Prize application with e-books) or not (they will see the version without e-books). This script can be reused for other projects. (Dan Michael).
- Data analysis for the use of the Abel Prize app in the library (~298 users), writing a short news article on it, including a link to the app. (Hugo)
- Initiating to work on new versions of the “visual navigation" prototypes we demonstrated in the project workshop in June, based on the feedback we received. The aim is to make them work in different collections and settings (Hugo)
- Converting the lesson content of the Library Carpentry visualization workshop in June available from Google Documents to Github (Hugo, Dan Michael)

Meetings, including:
- Meeting with a contact in the Netherlands (Winoe Bhikharie) about ideas for a potential workshop for creating touch table applications using the open-source XIMPEL framework (which we used for the Hidden Figures and Abel Prize applications). Several people during the workshops at UiO in June have asked if they could also create these kind of touch screen applications, so we will organize a workshop in fall 2017. (Hugo)
