Printing, copying and scanning

You can print, copy and scan in our libraries.

Most of the printers in the library have a card reader, and you must have a student card or employee ID card at the University of Oslo to use these. Read more about printing at UiO.

The library does not certify copies.

Users without student or employee card at UiO

  • Users with an employee card at Oslo University Hospital (OUS) can use the printers at the Medical Library at Rikshospitalet and Ullevål Hospital.
  • External users can print from three machines without logging in in the Humanities and Social Sciences Library in Georg Sverdrups hus. The prints can be picked up and paid for at the library desk.

Dentistry Library

  • The library has one printer that can be used for printing, copying and scanning by staff and students.

Humanities and Social Sciences Library in Georg Sverdrups hus

  • The library has printers that can be used for printing, copying and scanning on level 1 to 3.
  • Book Scanner / Flat Bed Scanner (scans from below): On Level 1, in the area behind the library desk, there are 2 book scanners for up to A4-size. The scanners are connected to a PC, and you need a UiO username and password in order to gain access. Scanned material can be saved to your home area on the computer.
  • Book Scanner / Overhead Scanner (scans from above): The book scanner is placed in the multimedia room on Level 1. It saves scanned material to a USB stick. You must bring your own memory stick, and for the sake of data security, we ask that you only use new memory sticks. Memory sticks can be purchased in the bookstore Akademika. The scanner is out of order at the moment (13.11.23)

Informatics Library

  • The library has one printer that can be used for printing, copying and scanning by staff and students.

Law Library in Domus Juridica

  • The library has two printers that can be used for printing, copying and scanning by staff and students at UiO.
  • A book scanner that saves what you scan on a memory stick, and can be used by anyone. You must bring your own memory stick, and for the sake of data security, we ask that you only use new memory sticks.

Medical Library at Rikshospitalet

  • The library has two printers that can be used for printing, copying and scanning by staff and students at UiO.
  • The library also has a separate printer for users with an employee card at OUS that can be used for printing, copying and scanning.

Medical Library at Ullevål Hospital

  • The library has one printer that can be used for printing, copying and scanning by staff and students.
  • The library also has a separate printer for users with an employee card at OUS that can be used for printing, copying and scanning.

The Science Library in Vilhelm Bjerknes' hus

  • The library has one printer that can be used for printing, copying and scanning by staff and students.

Student Library Sophus Bugge

  • There is one printer that can be used for printing, copying and scanning inside the library, and one downstairs.

Theological Library

  • The library has one printer that can be used for printing, copying and scanning by staff and students.
